FLORENCE, KY – NOVEMBER 17, 2015 – Southern Air, Inc., an operating subsidiary of Worldwide Air Logistics Group, Inc., has added two additional freighters to its fleet, including a fifth Boeing 777 and a fifth Boeing 737-400, bringing the total to 10 aircraft in operation for DHL Express, the world’s leading international air express shipping and logistics provider.
Southern Air’s fifth Boeing 777 adds to the company’s nine-year 777 flight services agreement with DHL Express, announced last year. The Boeing 737-400 expands a separate long-term flight services arrangement that Southern Air has with DHL Express. “With these latest additions to our growing fleet, we are honored to serve as a trusted provider to DHL Express for both domestic and international network airlift operations,” said Dan McHugh, Chief Executive Officer of Worldwide Air Logistics Group, Inc. “This fleet expansion further enhances our support of the growing needs of DHL Express and its customers worldwide,” McHugh added.
Southern Air was the first ACMI operator in the world to fly the Boeing 777, the most technologically advanced, fuel efficient, wide-body freighter in the world. The new additions to the fleet enhance the DHL Express global network to continue to serve customers with fewer stops, faster package transit times and competitive costs. Southern Air’s 737-400 freighter capabilities offer equally safe, efficient and reliable short-haul airlift and currently form a critical and expanding part of DHL Express’ US airlift network.
“Southern Air shares DHL Express’ commitment to performance excellence, superior customer service and environmental responsibility, and we look forward to continuing to meet DHL’s demands for safe, efficient and cost-effective airlift,” said Paul Chase, Chief Operating Officer of Southern Air.

"325000 employees in over 220 countries".......................

Would that be 325000 real employees, or is it more like 25000 employees and 300000 subcontractors ?

It's pilot contract time- of course Southern Air is on the verge of bankruptcy (again.)

Such a towering masterpiece of superlative cliché phrase stacking... “Premier provider” hysterical really.

…In a long shot gambit to pass off a significant hedge fund downturn screw up with EBITDA smoke & mirrors attached to laughable (i.e. non-culpable) financial projections to other greedy but clueless speculators through IPO transaction, we are adding DHL & LAN equipment into ACMI/CMI leaseback contracting with both parties. Despite fearlessly wading chest deep into a nasty labor cold war getting hotter by the day, we remain highly confident strategic press releases of trite, meaningless jargon will ultimately yield the desired result.

Is F.D. still the chief financial officer?

This is good news for SAI. This will put even more pressure on ABX, ATI, Atlas and K4 to keep their crew costs under control to ensure continued DHL flying that they are all dependent on.

This is exactly what DHL is planning to do. Grow the lowest cost operator to put pressure on the higher cost ones if the want to continue to "play ball".
