Quote: Your makeup bank wont be huge when it with your DSA exceed 686. And the MUD I lost is actual money. It goes into my 401k and the excess is sent to you in actual cash. And if you don't want to fly MUD, fine, but why should you lose any of it?

And trip trade up when there is no open time? Not in my base.
I've got an idea that you might like...Just call in sick. Then you can build up your makeup bank, again.

Quote: The 60 hrs that were taken from my MUD is real money. It could have gone into my 401K and have even more value over time than just straight pay. And you get a check for the money that can't be put into your 401K over the max amount. We shouldn't be losing many sick time whether you want the money or won't use the sick. My point here is that many guys may not know that if you exceed 686 with DSA and MUD, you are going to have those hours lost with no monetary gain.
At the end of the year anything listed as MUS converts to MUD. The only way to have 60 hours of MUD is you had to have used 60 hours of your regular sick bank! You have already been paid for those hours!

The only thing you have lost is the ability to fly for free!!
