Newark will be about a half hour further for me than LGA/JFK. Should I base my decision on my drive though? I hear United has a bunch of LGA trips too and they go junior...

United literally flies all around the globe from Newark. However, the drive from Queens or Long Island to EWR can be painful verses driving to LGA/JFK. Good problem to have

Gringo - do you live around NYC? It's probably 30 minutes on a good day. It can easily double, or triple, if the 30 minutes means crossing the Hudson in rush hour, a weekend, or a holiday. Crossing the Hudson can be brutal. Last trip the last 45 minutes, on a Saturday, took over three hrs.

There's a reason crews hate delays out of Europe flying into JFK, it puts them in rush hour going home. EWR, if you're staying west of the Hudson, isn't that painful.

He can plan on 4-6 trips per month. Guys deliberately bid schedules so they don't have to cross the Hudson. They live there and they understand the value of not having to cross the Hudson.

So if there's not an obvious difference between the two companies the drive is a major factor in NYC.

Please. I live in South Florida. Between the latino machismo with their near absolute total disregard for traffic laws, and the geriatrics simply waiting for God to call their number, on a GOOD day, I95 makes Mad Max look like a scene from Driving Miss Daisy.

And that's before the rain and the Canadians come down and cluster**** things up.

Are you more laid back of a person or more of a double breasted jacket and hat kind of person? That's how I would decide. You'll end up at this company most likely for the rest of your life. I would want to enjoy to people I'm surrounded with everyday.

You're saying one group is more enjoyably than another group? How do you tell when they're not in uniform?

I've worked with guys from several different airlines, and add in new hires and it's probably in the dozens and dozens of airlines, and their prior airline is meaningless as to if they are, or are not, fun to be with.
