Quote: Finally getting rid of those 2 old 321s so 15 net aircraft. 5 by May. Hope we lose more than we hire.
Yeah let's keep all the 321's with one jumpseat and no brake fans. Speaking of which, we were told only one jumpseater over water on the old 321's right? Something about life raft capacity? Tell me why then the new 321's added 10 extra seats? Same life rafts, yes? Just wondering.... if someone has an answer I'd be interested, if not.... back to your regularly scheduled b****ing.
Contract 2020!
Quote: it seems that the company is just giving us even more reasons to want to leave other than contract BS.
"The company?" Hate to play devil's advocate here but... 1. There are unbearable pilots at EVERY airline. 2. Every candidate is on his best behaviour (love British spelling!) during the interview process. 3. There are likely union protections in place to prevent the firing of pilots for other than performance reasons. Having said that, if someone behaves as egregiously as reported on a jumpseat, I believe the bare minimum should be a heatfelt written apology.

Funny story. Had a legacy pilot show up on my last job RJ jumpseat in PLAID GOLF SHORTS. True story.
Quote: · CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS – We are committed to reaching a Contract that recognizes the contribution of our pilots to the company’s success, while maintaining our competitive cost structure, allowing us to continue to grow

It is verifiable from ALPA financial analysis that an industry "standard" contract would allow them to reach this goal.

Further, if it weren't true, we are not here to subsidize and finance the growth of the airline.

The next paragraph was about how on/time is the most important thing to them.
Can anyone here please verify the union has acknowledged the 'industry standard' has risen significantly since we started this process?
I am operating on the assumption that every new contract signed has moved the 'standard' average up and the union will take this into account when this section is finally bargained.
Last I heard something about their position on this was almost a year ago.

I can't imagine they'd be dumb enough to not throw DA UA WN and whoever else got a 20%+ raise in the last year into managements face, but you can't be too sure.

That has been said many times from the NC that the ask is going up with every new contract. The only dispute I've heard through the rumormill is who are peers are; Spirit would not like to acknowledge DL/UA/AA as peers. You know, we're a different tier afterall.

If they don't consider DL,UA,AA our peers, they can stop comparing us in the "competitive stack" in performance.
You guys need to read the union emails and/or attend the union events OR contact your reps.

They have the answers as these questions have been answered many, many times.

Gonna have to agree here

It's alright just excuse Gunga Dimwit. His willful ignorance to the negotiating process and the RLA has been on display here as long as he's posted.

Can you please get a clue? How many times have they said the ask keeps going up each new deal that ratifies. Please do yourself a favor and at least read your emails or engage a rep and stop asking/ expecting for them to call for actions that aren't legal.

Exactly right. Ignorant blowhard...the information is out there. But he's apparently too dim to understand.
