Default Skywest Gets Rest of 2017 Horizon Bound E175

Copied from the Horizon Thread:

Fellow Horizon Air Pilots,
This summer has brought challenges to Horizon like we have never seen in our history. As Horizon celebrates its 36th anniversary this week, we have some disappointing news to share. We learned last week that Horizon will be unable to staff E-175 deliveries through at least the end of the year, and in blatant violation of our contract, the next three months of your Firm Order Aircraft for ERJ-175 will be delivered to SkyWest.

As far as I know, none of the AS birds will be based in BOI.

Skywest is only receiving 5 jets that we were in line for, we're still getting our jets. They're just being deferred.

IF you can right the ship. Never speak in absolutes regarding anything in this industry.

Didn't Horizon try this already with the CRJ back in the day? I heard from a senior CP I flew with the other day the CRJ was essentially a money loser for them because the fleet was so small. I.E. the cost of having a spare tire on site for 10 airplanes instead of 100 is exponentially greater due to economies of scale etc. Seems like they are in quite the pickle here since the Q isn't getting any more desirable and their fleet of 175's is so small. I guess being subsidized by Alaska is a plus.

This is some friendly advice. Find somewhere else to go. The problems that your company is having WILL get worse. Yes, the partner airlines will keep you in business. If there are no pilots to fly the airplanes, the subsidization from the partners won't matter.

Horizon will say ANYTHING anything to keep the rats in the boat. If everyone jumps ship, they're out of business. These people will turn into Baghdad Bob to keep you on property to the very last second of them shutting the doors, closing a base, etc. The more that you take control, the better off you'll be.

The 5 175s we are getting are separate from this.
