Default New Hire looking to go to Phoenix or Tucson

Hello,

This my first time posting, I got hired last month and due to start class in May, (I had to delay due to family reasons and current job) - I live in Tucson and would like to eventually see about working out of Phoenix (or Tucson obviously) - but I know I will have to go where they send me. Any idea of what my time will be like after the IOE takes place? Reserve in ORD? I was wondering how long it may take to get back to Arizona.

Thanks for you assistance!

8-12 months from your first day on property to get to Tucson or Phoenix. I’ve seen guys get Tucson as quickly as 3 months out of IOE, but 5-7 months after IOE is the current trend right now.

You are getting hired into the CRJ I presume?

I believe all CRJ new hires get at least several months in ATL or DTW.

Changes month to month. A few of my friends have been able to get ORD, MSP, and even SFO straight out of training on the CRJ within the past 4 months.

You may want to check out Compass. They have a PHX base as well as LAX and SEA. No idea how the upgrade time compares but that's worth looking into when you're going to a regional.

Right now they are hurting for FOs because of a hiring freeze last year, which means they will be hurting for captains in a year and likely upgrading people as soon as they get a thousand hours of 121. Their ads are claiming 18-24 month upgrades. Since they only HAVE three domiciles PHX certainly wouldn't be out of the question. At worst I'd expect a few months of commuting to LAX which is an easy commute out of PHX. Despite being their newest domicile PHX seems to be pretty popular and trending senior, to the extent that a regional where most people don't hang around much past 1000 hrs of TPIC can really be said to be senior. Seems like they've only got about five lifers excepting management pilots.

I would not come to SKW, especially in the CRJ.

You will be slogging it out all summer long (at a minimum) in DTW/MSP/ATL. Go to CPZ, get PHX ASAP, enjoy higher pay rates, life will be better...Seriously, things are not good at SKW right now.
