I was initially given late November ATP-CTP with E175 groundschool beginning in December. I received another email a few hours later that I had been moved into the October classes.

I filled out the form from the initial email, considering emailing or calling the recruiter for more info, would that be overkill? It does say they’ll start sending more within 90 days of start date so I figure I’ll just sit tight for now and let them go through the process of background checks and all the other logistics.

I'm just about to get all of my ratings and am looking into a few places to start my career up. I've heard that Skywest might be starting a direct entry captains and was wondering how that would work. I know I'd probably have to start as an FO though. But thanks for the advice in advance!

You’ll start as an FO. Skywest is a great company to work for while getting your hours for the majors.

OO doesn't do direct entry captains. I believe if you come in with prior 121 time in type, then you can upgrade faster, but I might be wrong about that.

Correct, no direct entry CAs, but pre-COVID if you came in with the 121 time…upgrade came pretty darned quick. Currently, as it stands post-COVID, the line of FOs with time is long and I imagine the company would go with a known quantity for now.

That being said, OO does have the soft-landings program, for those with prior 121 time. Not sure if we’re currently doing it. I would guess we are, but someone more knowledgeable than me will need to confirm.
