You ready? The hottest day in Phoenix was June 26th, 1990. It was recorded at 122 degrees Fahrenheit.
APU max operation Temp: 52 degrees Celsius/125.6 degrees Fahrenheit. 175 has a few max temps, but mostly cold temperature limitations. None that would create an issue from an operational standpoint in Phoenix. Unless you’re referring to some potential performance issues in hot weather? Single engine climb gradient issues? It does have a tendency to climb like a dog in the summer. you ready? *eye roll* ISA is 13 degrees at 1000'MSL based on the ambient temperature lapse rate of 2 degrees/1000 ft. Add + 35 = 48 C which is 118.4 F. Ops prohibited that day, and several others. |

It's the ISA+35 max t/o temp.because of the elevation there, isa is lower. 120 is not an issue at sea level, but at over 1000 ft it can be.

So the hottest day in the history of Phoenix summers was 122 F, 30 years ago, and you’re trying to tell me we can’t have a 175 base because the max temp is 118.4 F? |

The “you ready” was in reference to the “fun fact” , but yeah take in personal. *eye roll*

Must be more busy around Chicago, pretty easy to commute on the west coast since everyone lives in fear over here lol

Yes and I’ve had to jump seat 10+ times in the last couple months alone. Southwest is allowing it too. |
I asked a different airline for the Jumpseat, the captain scoffed and the FO cried out loud and didn’t turn around. Thankfully there was one misconnect.
apparently it is a big deal for some airlines. |
Thanks for all the replies. Got the last seat so didn’t need it.
