Too many LOLs to type. I still to this day cannot figure out where "engines under the wing time" came from. Turbine is turbine time. Period. Show me a column in any logbook ever that has EUW. having spent almost 2 years on both AC im getting ready to go back to the CRJ for a move to be based in domicile. Chase the QOL not the AC. I actually prefer the CRJ from and airmanship standpoint. To the OP, you might have decent luck getting to SAN on the ERJ, the bottom of the list keeps rotating in and out for people looking to be west coast. But as always its a moving target and could stop at any point.

I only mention the underwing engine thing because I saw it in a Kalitta ad and I’ve heard from a few friends at the major that they prefer it. It certainly isn’t a big point, nor a reason to choose an airframe. It doesn’t outweigh anything especially experience, leadership, etc.

It’s not something you would log in a logbook, it’s the type aircraft you fly. People have flown different types of aircraft in their backgrounds, and to some people those differences may matter more than to others. Turbine time isn’t the end all, be all. Resumes matter too.

Obviously I’ve ****ed off some folks here and that was not my intent. I don’t want to distract this thread from the OP’s original post. I was just offering one perspective. There are many.

Is there any possible way we can all overlook all the statements about aircraft type and who other companies hire and just stay on topic? I know this is the internet and that's a big ask, but really, cmon.

Lol this is stuff we joke about in the school house. Can't believe I seriously heard (saw) it for the first time. At any rate, welcome to OO.

Friends don’t let friends go to Kalitta.

They will likely gate check your rollaboard and your luggage will go to LGA or SAN even if you don’t.

However, I got ORD the second month. A one-leg commute so way better. And then I just got DEN the third month. I am working my way back to the west coast and hope to get SAN by summer, or maybe the end of summer. LAX would be a great second alternative until SAN opens up.

Get home before you worry about making CA. You have to have 1000 hours SIC to even be eligible, and could be in SAN well before then. Even sitting reserve, you’d be doing it in your house instead of a crashpad.

Yep, all the type stuff down there is extra stupid. That's been covered.

Different question, though, which I'm pointing out for the benefit of other OO LGA commuters from the West... why didn't you just fly nonstop from SAN to JFK?
