You want to do a mechanical engineering degree while flying at a regional? You sure you know what you're getting into?

I have an EE degree. Looking back on it now I couldn't even fathom working as a Starbucks barista while doing engineering (And there are people who do it btw, good on them). No less being a regional FO.

Think carefully about what you're asking for. Engineering is not like being an English major. You just can't miss a few classes here and there because you're out flying the line.

I know FA's that do it, why can't a pilot do it? Sure, he'll need to wait until he's a more senior lineholder and probably need to be in school part time only. Still possible.

So given the confines in which the OP asked the question is it possible?

The University of North Dakota used to have a fully-accredited online BS in ME. It had an annual residence requirement of 1 week each summer, if I remember correctly, but this would be worth exploring if you’re definitely wanting to study ME.

Yes. I should've been more specific. I have a few FA friends who are doing exactly this. They typically work Thr/Fri-Sun and do M-W class or something to that effect. Obviously OP needs to be senior enough to hold that schedule.

Possible? Yes. Probable? Meh...
