Agreement: a negotiated and typically legally binding arrangement between parties as to a course of action.

I don't know if you can call it an agreement if you "...send notice..." of it without coming to agreement on the terms within.

Honestly, this all just seems silly to me. If we can't all come to some sort of agreement, and aren't willing to leave it the way its been for many years, then lets all just amicably dissolve the agreement. Maybe we just need some time apart to remember how much we appreciate one another ;)

Yep. I can confirm that some of those u listed have sent memos out to the pilots saying immediate changes to jumpseat policy. Sad that this has turned to all this... it’s pretty much republic, Mesa, and Skywest all outside the circle.

It just that, but I can see it changing hiring priorities. After all, if you were an HR person would you potentially want a pilot at your airline sitting in a cockpit with a pilot who they had denied a jumpseat? Maybe making that person miss an anniversary or birthday? Nope.

I hate when facts get brought into an emotional discussion....

" When (we) began to research this issue, we discovered that documented jumpseat agreements did not exist between United and the UAX airlines. [After negotiating for over a year] All eight of our UAX carriers were given new reciprocal jumpseatagreements to sign on May 14, 2019. Within 30 days of receiving the agreements, five of these carriers signed. These new agreements align the UAL/UAX jumpseatboarding priority with industry standard agreements at AA/American Eagle and DAL/Delta Connection. We would like to thank the ALPA represenatives at ARW, CMT, TSA, and XJT for their leadership working with us to improve jumpseat benefits.

There are three remaining UAX carriers that have not yet signed: SkyWest, Republic, and Mesa. Due to this failure to sign, these three carriers technically do not have a reciprocal jumpseat agreement with United Airlines. This is contrary to the recent information sent out by the IBT and SAPA. Instead of cutting them off completely, as some believe we should, they were afforded the courtesy of being categorized and prioritized as "other airline."

If and when each of these "non-exclusive" UAX carriers sign the agreement, they will be moved up into a higher boarding priority and join GoJet in the non-exclusive tier. In addition, they would be included in the upcoming UAX electronic check-in/listing and international jumpseating (ICASS) on UAL."

No, United didn't take anything away OR take your jumpseat priority on "every" carrier.

Just a quick FYI. If we are denied access to a Republic or SkyWest JS ALPA wants us to act professionally but get the crews names and employee numbers. We don’t need to meet you to get your names if you are operating an UAL express flight. All the info we need is on our company iPads.

One more tidbit of info.... all United interview Capt’s and FO’s are line pilots. I know that there are some lifers out there but you might not want to become a lifer over a bad decision like this one.

So FOs whose dream job it is to work at United should do what? If your answer is persuading SAPA as a 1 or 2 year FO, lets for arguments sake say they are unsuccessful in that goal. Defying the captains decision? Also not the correct answer. Hope they are one of the lucky ones that happen not to work one of the flights where the scenario comes up?

What a classless threat.

You do understand that this news came out just yesterday straight from SAPA and not from our pilot group of 5000+. I can’t speak for everyone but I certainly don’t want to be denying fellow pilots the jumpseat but unfortunately our hands our tied. SAPA has made it clear that it’s a FOM violation punishable by FAA action to go against this.

Does United like to hire heroic pilots that choose to go break company policy’s and FARs just because it’s the right thing to do?

Like I said I certainly don’t want this to be the outcome. I’m frustrated with both SAPA and UAL MEC for failing to work together on this in a timely and responsible manner.

As someone on the SAPA forums pointed out our FOM states that our company policies concerning jumpseat usage are not regulatory. The reciprocal agreement that's been signed by UA and OO also doesn't appear to have a priority list. I really don't see how United has broken any deal that we have with them.

Skywest Captain here, I'm not denying anyone. If a United and SkyWest pilot are both at the podium they both are fully aware of who gets what and when, software be damned. Also, I'm not going to punish a pilot because the computer nerds aren't doing stuff right, for those that know me, I'm pretty juvenile but I'm not childish. Besides, if I defy SAPA's orders what are they going to do to me....... absolutely nothing. On the other hand, if ALPA national wants to slap me up side the head, things can happen, up to and not limited to.... trashing my United app or locking me out of all ALPA jumpseats. I'm not taking one for the team on this one, mostly because its stupid.
