Skywest will likely closing east bases(delta flyibg) over the next couple years, so beware going for Dtw.

Doubtful. Not enough west coast flying to swap/replace or even gates out west for it.. in fact all 900’s have moved east.. all DL 175’s will move west over the next 6 months.. sample for you 52 CRJ’s fly through DTW today... And the base has 440 pilots there.... only base i would worry about the next 5 years is IAH... (besides LGA)

LGA is the only one affected. DTW is not closing.

Source?

Seems very unlikely they’d close DTW as their CRJ flying isn’t going to the west coast

Both have pros and cons but I'd say skywest. At edv you'll be based in lga/JFK your first 6ish months on reserve and then when you come to dtw you'll be on reserve an additional 6 months.

Guy I just talked to at endeavor flew just 200 hours his first year there. Tons of fos there have the time to upgrade but can't and it's pushing 3 years. The delta interview is nice but you have wait an additional 18 months after your ~3 year upgrade. The time to go to endeavor was '16-17.

At skywest you'll get dtw off the bat maybe a month or 2 of reserve and building time a lot quicker. Upgrade will be as soon as you have the mins.

And to stoke the fire more, some at Endeavor think their MSP presence might be the first to go. And a couple guys I've flown with say management has been particularly gung ho with ATL ops in the hopes of edging out endeavor there and increasing our presence. I know the notion of "sticking to geographical regions" has been floating around since the hammer dropped, but I just don't see it happening that cut-and-dry.

To be fair, dtw always has the lion's share of openings , mostly fueled by attrition and transfers, but it certainly isn't shrinking.
