DTW Based; SkyWest Vs Endeavor

Hey all,

I live near DTW with a March 2020 class date. Of course SkyWest is the no brainer option for someone based in DTW, but I still have a few questions:

- How long would one be on reserve in DTW?
- How long to upgrade in DTW?

Also, if Delta was the goal, how often does Delta hire skywest pilots? Would Endeavor be a better choice with the guaranteed interview?

Anything helps! Thanks!

If you have the quals upgrade is during NH training for DTW, 14 from the bottom FO got a line in November... tons of OO guys at DL and go to DL.. OO advantage over Endeavor is faster upgrade for DTW and we fly both 200/700/900 as one group. (More opportunity to pick up flying) OO DTW base is 240 CA’s and 217 FO’s. Not sure how big it is for Endeavor..

How quick could you get captain in ATL assuming you came in with 1000 121? And do captains fly a lot on reserve or do you sit around and not do much?

Nobody on the CRJ sits around....

Working on IFR now. Goal is to work for OO or E9 in the next year and a half or so.

I know the 900/700/200 all one class for OO.

What else makes OO the no brainer for DTW?

For OO DTW will always be a Jr base.. you can have comfort that you will upgrade there and not have to commute for a quicker upgrade. Because thats it DTW..

ATL is the most junior base, followed closely by DTW. If you came when we're short on captain upgrades, you might be able to basically get it right away (like, around Christmas).

Problem with Atlanta is twofold. One, its a smaller base, so even though its junior there are less slots. Two, with how Delta seems to be trying to shift us more west/midwest, I'm not sure what our Atlanta flying will look like in the near future.

As someone else said, nobody on the CRJ sits around. They work ya. I haven't had a reserve day where they don't use me, though I typically know the night before at least.

You’ll get to Delta quicker via Endeavor.
