Hello,
I am debating on applying to a regional airline. I live currently in northern California and have about 1509 hours total. I'll be 23 in November. I am trying to look at different options and I know the airlines are hiring a lot and the pay and schedule is pretty good. How does SkyWest compare to the other regionals?

Ask yourself where do you want to be based and live.
Skywest has 5,000+ pilots and class dates are backed up for months with close to 100 new hires every 2 weeks, that alone should tell you where people are going.
We recently got a lot more Delta flying on the 175 through the west coast that came from Compass, including getting another sim. So that should open up a lot more movement on that end.

Are you willing to move? SkyWest advantages are West Coast bases, stability, and a quick upgrade (CRJ). Disadvantages are the lack of a union and any flow or other track programs to the majors like CPP or Aviate.
It’s a tough decision and no answer is definitely right or wrong. Feel free to PM me.
