You said that very thing here in 2018 on the SkyWest forums. Since you said that, SkyWest is growing more than it ever has. They can't even fill classes at the moment.

I'm just wondering what downturn you are referring to? Not only that, what virus? The corona virus? The one that has killed 77,000 so far? Ignoring other viruses like hepatitis and the flu? Those one's that kill millions more that people don't seem to care about anymore?

I'd love your crystal ball.
ah the bliss of never been through a massive downturn, you’ll see what I’m talking about soon enough.

I don't know you nor I know what you've been through in the past. But you have to understand that everytime you "open" your mouth here on APC , you come as the most dramatic and pessimistic pilot in the industry.
If you in fact have gone through tough times, try sharing some good advice instead of letting us know how horrible things are going to be and how we're all getting furloughed soon.
You went through hard and then things started improving, right? What about some optimism even if it's long term?.

LOL yes, because in past regional airline history management has always took note of their current staffing situation prior to agreeing to more lift.... it’s been get the contracts first, then figure it out.

not sure what questioning it on here is going to change? It’s done already. Just do your job and the rest will take care of itself.

I find the guys that complain most about staffing were the ones that were in during or shortly after the recession when OO didn’t furlough and we were so absurdly overstaffed, or when the 175 first came online. We will likely never back at those kinds of staffing levels.

What downturn would that be? 9/11? Late 2000s? Early 2010s?

I guess I'll be waiting for that downtown "soon enough".

Or I'll be waiting for the next one. Just like the rest of the industry. Gotta love APC; where you can't have any discussion, and when you try, it's just another "well you haven't even lived".

Maybe we should all just stop talking at all, because there is always someone that is older and has lived the rough life longer than we have.
