May I suggest that you do a little research on what the airline industry was like prior to 2014? Bankruptcy’s, recessions, 911, age 65, etc. In addition, just like the regionals, the major contracts were no where near what they are today. In many cases it was much less pay for 2-3 years making the transition. Many good pilots opted to stay at the regional level for various reasons.

Dude
its the end of days in this industry. 3 hours from now what does it matter to YOU where anybody is or why. We all have our own choices, reasons, successes and failures. Let it go. For your own good.

I sense you have not been through this rodeo before.

It isn't the end of days, but like age 65 basically froze everyone's career progression for 5 years, the virus is doing the same. Very senior mainline guys will be fine. Very senior regional guys will be OK, if their airline survives.

If you're lucky, it'll take you 5 years to get back to where you are right now on the career ladder. At best.

Judging from their emoji I’m not thinking he/she was serious. If not it’s still in bad taste to joke about it

Nobody is joking about it. I just don't agree with that statement, hence the emoji. Not trying to make fun of anyone or anything though, that's not my intention at all.

I'm just a chronic optimistic person, and that mentality gets me through most of **** shows. By no means I'm denying the importance of what's happening. I just try to see a positive side whatever happens to me.

Quite a few rodeos actually. Including living 5,000 away from my family, breaking my ankle right after IOE, 10 years without flying after flight school, being away from home for 12 years..... To name a couple.
