More like OO pilots should unionize and join literally everybody else.

OO pilots have a heck of a lot more power without a union. The threat of a union is more powerful than having a union. I'm still waiting for my union to finish my 2015 grievance. Take a look at today's Mesa thread and hear about their union representation.

There are some upsides to a union, but there are a ton of downsides too. They have decided they don't want or need one. Seems to be working for them. Everyone who doesn't work there should stay out of it and mind their own business.

Why is SkyWest running a 30 seat part 135 operation unsafe in the eyes of ALPA, but other non-union operations like key lime, contour, etc are totally fine?

I can’t say that I know about 135 that looks suspiciously similar to 121 operations. However as a former OO CRJ guy, the 135 op is terrifying. Thats a busy unforgiving jet to **** non mx locations. Has been and total newb crews? Stress. At least the 200 flies good with 20 pax. 50 in summer is gross.

Im not a 145 guy, who knows. That seems to be more forgiving from my JS rides.

I hope the training department (with attrition) is up to upping the standard or we will see more colgans in Moab, Devils Lake, Laramie, or wherever.

And thats not mentioning the absurd FDP and work rules that 135 allows. Days off in a hotel after an endless 14 on 10 off in williston? Thats legit and legal. Livin the dream.

Bottom line, I don’t trust SkyWest Inc. to not pressure good pilots into bad situations. ALPA is political, but I think they and the pilots are right to oppose 121 in sheeps clothing ops.

I feel like alpa is “targeting” Skywest. What about the other 25+ 135 operators out there. Wonder if OO can file a harassment claim in court to stop them.. hate how there is zero accountability for wrongful media reporting or things like this..
