Don't worry too much about commuting to work. I hear ASA and Skywest will provide S2 positive space to position pilots through DAL mainline, bumping DAL employees from the seniority list.
I have heard that DCI employees think they are DAL employees. But so does the flying public.

hey yeah, we just got the word today that benefits changed. i don't do a lot of traveling (well none actually, except commuting to work and back) but i did see that it changed for the worst. i don't know what it said for you asa guys, but for us at skywest, it changed to us paying $5/segment and $0.01/mile for domestic flights on delta and other delta connection carriers. we can still fly for free on skywest (gee, isn't that nice), but i don't know about us flying on asa, for example. i also know nothing about international stuff, and wouldn't know how, if at all, that changed. but going from free to $5/segment and $0.01/mile domestically seems like a bad change. delta has been trying to get money out of us for years, and it looks like it finally happened. of course, we also have to pay $50/year (no small fee, in my opinion) just to use the delta skynet load lookup and listing junk. i don't know if you asa guys have to do that also or not? anyway, that's my take on the changes for skywest. what is your situation?

Domestic travel on Delta mainline and other Delta Connection carriers now requires a tax-free segment and mileage fee of $5.00/segment + $.01 per air mile traveled.

For DAL, you need to pay the annual $50 to nonrev or jumpseat...you can do that at any ticket counter or customer sercive counter inside the terminals.
You can always use the DAL phone system, but the online non-rev system is way better.
To register for the DAL online system go here: http://register.delta.com/
They will send you a password in the mail (takes a while), and then you can access their nonrev system at this website:
https://dlnet.delta.com/
Select OALs

Select TravelNet
After that it's pretty self-explanatory...you can check loads, pay travel fees (if necessary), and list yourself and any of your eligible family members.

I think thats pretty much what I said let me clarify my point.
5 seats available in back and 1 up front.
1 ASA(or skywest) pilot DOH 06/90
1 ASA(or skywest) pilot DOH 07/93
5 Skywest rampers DOH 1 month ago
If the pilots (or replace pilots with FAs) don't want to pay the $20 fee to go to work and the rampies going on vacation pay the $20's, all of the rampies who would be junior to both pilots, would get seats in the back. While pilot 1 would get the jumpseat and pilot 2 is left at the gate.
As the jumpseat and Non-rev list are separate in the delta system.(try and see how much it ****es off a gate agent if you put yourself on both) And the Non-Revs get cleared before the Jumpseater.
Pilot 2 calls in and says he cant make it and from talking with friends at ASA that means flight canceled due to staffing.
I hope Im wrong in the way I interpret this but I fear I'm not.

If more than one pilot shows up requesting the jumpseat, the computer automatically transfers the less senior, or lower priority pilot, over to the standby list. If the pilot being transfered works for Delta, or a DCI than the transfer will enter you on the list according to your PPR number.....effectively bumping all 5 rampers in your scenario.
I will be IMPOSSIBLE for more than one SkyWest/ASA/DCI pilot to jumpseat without paying a non-rev fee. The computer will not allow more than one to sit in the cockpit, and will transfer all other to the stand-by list. I f you have a PPR number you will be charged....if not (i.e. American, United, all other non Delta/DCI pilots), you will ride for free.
That is how the software works, and there is no getting around it.

If there's an AA mainline pilot trying to get on the same TSA-operated American Connection flight as me (a CHQer), he has priority over me. On a CHQ flight, however, I can bump him.
