I realize the Brasilia is one of the greatest airplanes ever to grace the skies, but you want to give up a 727 for this?

Hiring maybe in September, I think.

Probably this fall with classes maybe in the very late fall but definitely early spring.

Time to yank out your crystal ball!

I'm actually one of those guys who WANTS to get the Brasilia (for a little while at least), when hiring starts I assume there will be a lot of transitions to the CRJ as the last hiring wave FO's are moving over. One could guess that most slots will be for the Brasilia out west?

You are correct, EMB FOs off seat lock have first rights over new hires for any RJ vacancies. Usually after a freeze the first few new hire classes are for the EMB, after a few months the pool of transitions starts to thin out and new hires are added to the jet classes.

Thanks! I'm hoping to be in the position to apply early next year they are in fact hiring, hopefully you're right about the majority Brasilia slots. I'm ready to head back west! :D

From what I've seen if you actually request the Brasilia they're more than happy to let you have it. Once you get through the interview and get your hire letter you should request it.

Are any Brasilia pilots out there at Skywest chomping at the bit to move in to a fancier cockpit like the CRJ or E175? Are they still doing transitions right now, even though they're not running new hire classes, or is it just all quiet in the training dept (other than recurrent)

No classes of any type right now. None since January. An occasional domicile transfer and that's about it.
