SAPA Sucks.

I personally also thought the forums were getting a bit out of hand. At the same time I think we need a place where the pilot group can discuss things like the pay package. Silencing the forums right before the sends a pretty nasty message.

Also unrelated to the pay vote, most of what I know about PBS I learned from reading through threads on the SAPA forums where people posted questions, posted their bids for critique, and posted about mistakes they made with their bid. With a system controlling our lives that is as complicated and mis-understood as PBS we really need some place where pilots can ask questions to the masses.

Gents - (and ladies)

Re forums: That guy went way out of line. It is ok to disagree with someone, it is not ok to post pictures of ones house. What's next, posting pictures of his kids going to school ? Not cool. Says more about your persona.

I understand what he was trying to do, that is not how you do it. Not ok.

That said he should have been banned. Forum should remain open.

ALPA shut down our forum at Delta. The lifers in the DALPA office hated free thought and free speech.

We started our own forum and it has been an overwhelming success.

We rejected a joke of a contract and are now recalling the Yes voting reps.

I think they would all agree shutting down our forum was the biggest mistake they have ever made.

Social media was also extremely effective in rejecting the substandard agreement and recalling those who do not represent our best interests.

Good luck attaining what you so richly deserve.

I agree with the general sentiment of this thread.

SAPA has become increasingly irrelevant under JP's rule. While I agree that posting pictures of someones house is going way too far, shutting down the forums entirely was way over the line.

Removing our primary tool for communication SAPA has essentially shown that they don't really want to represent the pilots at all. The behavior on the forums I feel was a direct result of the general apathy displayed by SAPA with regard to important issues (like the absurdity of allowing new hires to vote on the pay package.)

I think ALPA carriers don't allow new hires to vote, unless they've been on property a yr, correct? SAPA is a joke, real representation is needed. ALPA isn't the best but it's far better than the current dictatorship.

Hopefully this hurts SAPA more than it helps, and begins to pave a path to real representation.

Don't count on ALPA to be any more representative or legitimate. They are nothing but a political machine looking to stay on flight pay loss for themselves.

Correct.

You can't vote at an ALPA carrier until you've been on property for a year and are off probation.

Someone who's still being evaluated and has no experience with the company shouldn't be voting.

It probably only happened with change of leadership, slow the conspiracy roll lol. I think JP is on his way to greener pastures. What was the house pic thing about? I didn't see the forums before all this
