So management can increase to $36.50, but in the past they would have to have the pilots vote if they wanted to go higher. Now they just have to get SAPA to agree, and we know how difficult that will be....
We had a similar provision in previous TA that allowed them to increase from $22 to $24 without a vote.

Sorry I think I am not being very clear. In our expiring TA, we had a $22-$24 range. That expired and that is why the company was so eager to get a new deal done. In the new TA we just signed, we agreed to let the company pay first year $30 and raise it to $36.50 during the TA period. But hidden in the language was if the company wants to go above $36.50, they no longer need to add it to a TA and have the pilots vote on it. They simply just have to have SAPA sign off on the increase.

As NVUS mentioned, once it gets much more than that, it will start to be the same as 2nd year pay. However, the company can just decide to do signing bonuses. These signing bonuses will make first year pay more than most of our FO's get paid. The company has decided and 60% of our pilots agree, that new hires deserve way more of our profits than the pilots that have been here for years.

1.5% upon ratification, and another 1.5% on Jan. 1, 2017.

And we showed the industry just what a well unified pilot group can do during this giant economic melt down, dwindling airline profits, massive pilot glut and looming furloughs!

I hold my head high with pride as I go through the McDonlalds drive through with the extra 20 bucks a check I now receive!

Speaking of McDonald's, the first year fry jockies will be making $15/hr in 2017. That's $31,000 a year. Or a little more than a first year FO. Those burgers are gonna get expensive.

Please do not refer me to the 15,000 plus page post on Skywest for the answer. Major news stories like these should be broken into their own thread. I don't have hundreds of hours to waste reading every thread, and I hope you don't either.
Let me guess.....entitlement generation or retired AF brass?

Default SkyWest 1st Year Pay $30/hr??

Long time lurker, but had to join to ask about this. I have heard that SkyWest now has $30/hr. for first year pay? I have seen rumblings about this on the SkyWest thread, can any SkyWesters confirm that this is what was passed with your pay agreement?

If it is true, does the $30/hr start in training, or is training at a different rate?

Currently flying with a part 135 operation that is less than desirable for me.

Thanks for the community support guys.

Blue Skies,

Bmor

Yes that is correct. $30 a hour from day one, training guarantee is 65 hours, then after your LOFT (end of sim it goes up to 75/76 hours).

Sign on bonus if you have a type rating in CL-65 or Emb175 (not 100% sure on 175).

Theres another thread on this as well. Company could raise first year pay to $36.50 without a new TA passing.
