Aiming to get a class date and relocate to Denver this coming summer. Most important QOL factors for me are upgrade time and living in base (two things that seem hard to come by in DEN). With that, is the CRJ or ERJ a better move?
Side note: These forums have scared me off from TSA/GoJet. |

If we are then can someone please explain why Skywest as only Regional is over in Australia recruiting pilots to come to the US and work? We have over 30 Australian pilot’s in DTW working for Skywest without US passports or Greencards. They are here working with temporary work visas sponsored by Skywest and Skywest recruited these pilots in Australia. Why would the company be recruiting in Australia if we are filling classes just fine here? Just taking advantage of US - Australia relations. E3 apply only to Australians, easy for Skywest and another recruiting tool. Company only needs to provide paperwork, visas are good for 2 years, endless renewals Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Portland went from 16 crews to 75 in a year. Seattle saw similar growth on the 175. San Diego Just opened and now has 45 175 crews. At least fifteen and perhaps as many as 24 175s coming in the next year for Alaska, all west coast. Thirty 175s coming next year for Delta, many if not most will go to LAX and SEA.
If that's not west coast growth, I don't know what is. By comparison, Horizon might get 13 more 175s next year, and they might not get any. If they put the 175 in Portland, all of the Captain slots for the next year will go 20+ years senior. You would probably get stuck in the Q with brutal, garbage schedules. Compass? Where else are you going to go if you want the west coast? |

As an aside, I'm not laughing, because this continues to set back ALL regionals, even those who actually try to raise the bar. Please folks, consider the repurcussions and what management actually thinks of you. And no, Endeavor does not, so don't make up crap. |
Oops not Endeavor. An Aussie told me it was one of his options. Scratch that

Compass, GoJet, and TSA accept E3 visas.

Oz has common language, common culture, no security worries, good GA infrastructure (plenty of pilots, real pilots vice MPL), and painless right to work path. That's the first place they'd look after Canada. Plus it's a bit of a hassle to change employers on a work visa... |
