Default KMCI new terminal/southwest future

I know this is getting a ways out there but just wondering if the new terminal gets built in KC if it would mean a good chance of KC getting a domicile? SWA is pushing for this new terminal.

Doubt it....there's not as many departures/day out of MCI compared to other stations that've been thrown around as possible bases (LAX, BNA, FLL, STL....)

I think MCI burned that bridge when they voted down the last terminal rebuild proposal.
I know...fool me once. I don’t blame the city for not wanting to front a bunch of money for an airline that could pull out tomorrow.
That being said, a lot of SWAs business has shifted to STL. The terminal in MCI is just bad. Not only does the customer experience suck, but the design is just painful for trying to operate an airline.

Thumbs up

MCI terminal replacement is going to the voters of Kansas City, Missouri Tuesday November 7, 2017. If approved the airlines will be footing 100% of it. Nothing to be paid by the taxpayers.

There still are contraversies as to how the winning contractor got selected and the wish to remain “75 steps from curb to plane”. So keep your fingers crossed and hope for the best. They need a better functioning terminal in so many aspects.
