The reality is, if Planned Parenthood didn’t provide so many women with inexpensive and uncomplicated ways to get birth control, there would be far more abortions. You can’t reduce the abortion rate without making birth control accessible and cheap.
As far as all the pink, I also get annoyed with it. Seems gimmicky and over the top...once on a Delta flight (or maybe it was American), the gate agent made an announcement and was moving through the crowd, collecting donations. It was very uncomfortable and tacky. However, I get the obsession. One out of eight women, that’s a huge number of women. And while the survival rate is high, the process seems to last forever. One of my friends got breast cancer about three years ago, and she recently finished the rebuild process. It seems endless. |

Since transferring to the inactive reserves and waiting out my 58 1/2 birthday to begin collecting my retirement pay, I'd planned on wearing a "Born to Kill" pin next to a "hippie peace symbol."
I guess the best laid plans go to waste easily. :) |
