Keep updating and applying. They told me I’d been trying awhile in the interview so they can see your history. I told them they sure took their sweet time calling. Lol

Anyone know why they put up another first officer job on the website? The feb hasn’t even closed yet

Takes a long time for such a large machine to grind to a halt.

We're hiring?! That's news to me. I thought Gary said we're freezing all hiring. The F word was mentioned several times, but apperently not on the table unless as the last resort. Hopefully there won't be the need, but I think we should all plan for the worst and expect the best case scenario. For those outside looking in, prepare for a wait. This hiring season is not looking promising. Sorry for bad news.

Go back and listen/ read again. Gary said freezing all "non-front line" hiring. And even before this, there was never going to be new hire classes until "at least July", due to MAX grounding and likely upcoming required training.

Phew, that's a relief! All is good then. Nothing to see here, business as usual.

Wow. You got THAT from what I said? You're right. The sky is falling and the world is ending.

Better?🥺

What everyone said is correct. This place is nothing but negativity, *****ing and moaning, and doom and gloom. Even in good times. I'm sure it's unbearable now.

Have fun with that.

Negativity? Do you realize what is going on right now? No one wants to rain on someone’s parade regarding getting hired. However, we have around 1500-2000 newish pilots on property (many of whom) are understandably a bit nervous. Maybe more. No pilots at this company want to see people hitting the street. Hopefully, like the CEO said, that will be the last option. My guess is that new classes are the last thing they are concerned about right now.

My suspicion is that by August, everything will be going gangbusters again.

LUV stock at $35 right now.

A furlough of 20% at SWA would be 2000 pilots, all hired starting around mid 2016.

Are my numbers right?
