And before you say it, no he didn't have any co-morbidities. No, he wasn't sick with anything else. He was a healthy man in his 50s, caught this disease at work, and died from it. One of our coworkers came close to suffering the same fate, as I'm sure you saw in the news.

I'm sure my wife's friend will be gratified to know that it was the media that killed her husband, and not COVID 19.

If you are a Southwest pilot, this is one ironic post.
Personally, I think that WN is focusing on specifically United's market share in ORD/IAH/DEN.
For NK, there are some significant differences, namely a significant international presence that could potentially increase that is a significant yield generator. I think you'll soon see NK increase the frequency on its existing city pair, just like WN did in the early 1990s.

Don't take it personally. ULCC is a genius business model. It just doesn't scale well. Growth and scale costs money. Then you have to find new ways to generate revenue because only so many people are willing to put up with the hassle of getting up charged for seat assignments and carry on bags. The ULCCs have thrived by not competing head to head with anyone but themselves. I think that's great. I fly one of them with my family regularly. It's a solid product if you go into it with the right expectation.
Of course WN is targeting market share in those markets. UA is weak domestically and there is blood in the water due to Covid. It may end up being a failed experiment, though.
It's fun to play CEO. Lord knows I do it here enough. SWA has a good team in place that I trust to take risks in the right places and run a solid network. Glad it's them and not me.

I wonder what FDR would think of this crisis? He was in terrible health his entire life and would definitely have been at high risk. And yet he stared down some of the biggest threats to this country's existence and way of life and never blinked.
Glad we have courageous people like you to look down upon and protect the rest of us snowflakes.

I operate several routes where anywhere from 10-20% of the airplane are people who drove 3+ hours to get on Spirit and avoid Southwest. They tell me it's that much cheaper and worth the time and hassle. I don't think F9 and NK are competing against just each other. If we were, WN wouldn't focus so heavily on the 'free' bag nor would AA/UA offer a 3rd class product. The ULCC's aren't in any danger of dragging pax out of B6 Mint, the WN small business crowd, or DL first class but there's lots of lower hanging fruit that's up for grabs. There's a lot of churn at the bottom that's looking at $$$ and not much else.

In FDRs era, my dad and others in the military did not have time to be snowflakes. They had no idea what that was. They were too busy being shot at and seeing their buddies being killed. And they were shooting back.

And we’ll never know the true numbers thanks to some of the restrictions to reduce the spread. I’m no fan of the media, or the political left for that matter, but I do agree this is more serious that some think.
