I'll tell you what though, now that I'm coming back, the smoker has been going for a solid 24 hrs, because I do pulled pork with a whole young pig, ribs, brisket, all frozen and eaten when I'm on a trip. I'll be filling a freezer with such goodness.
I'll be ready!

Why smoke pig when you could smoke cow? What is this? The Caribbean?

glad he’s getting his money, but I don’t need him pitching the vax at me. that’s a choice between me and my dr.

I'll take a buyout for my remaining years and skip the vax. 5.5 million should do.

Of course he is going to pitch the vaccine. Less sick calls, quicker recovery. It's all money in the company's pocket (and ours by extension).
Every person in a leadership position in the entire country is pitching it. Hell, even the former President and his wife got it. It's a freaking modern miracle and is going to be responsible for one of the greatest American comebacks in history.

Wow. That's quite a pitch, Doctor.

If the populace is unwilling to vaccinate, what do you suppose will bring the pandemic to a close? 500,000 have died in the last year. Many more with long haul diseases of heart, lungs, brain... (all potentially medically disqualifying for pilots I might add).

So we can either vaccinate enough to limit transmission of the virus or... let it run rampant and lose how many more? And at what cost to our industry and our profession? We are stepping on our own cranks if we don't do everything possible to end the pandemic so that states and countries allow business and tourism to return to some normalcy.

Not a doctor. Don't claim to be. I am a history nerd, though. Vaccines are mankind's greatest invention. It's a fact. This vaccine is no different.
Without vaccines, we wouldn't even approximate the society that we are today.
I am bullish on a big industry bounce this summer and from here on because of the vaccine. If it were tied up in development or sitting on the shelf waiting for approval, we would be looking at another year like last one.

Regardless, it’s a decision a person makes with their doctor’s advice. Executives don’t need to use their weekly rah, rah blog to manipulate the behavior of employees.

When I look at the benefits of the vaccine I don’t think it’s a fit for me. It doesn’t change the protocols in our lives. Pharma say it may not stop transmission. Pharma say if you’ve had Covid (I have) the vax has no benefit. We still wear masks, quarantine, can’t visit others, etc. Not to mention it’s not approved by the FDA (the label even has that warning), and pharma and the government are exempt from liability in the event there are side effects; that makes me sceptical. It’s only anecdotal so far, but there are more and more instances of otherwise healthy people developing serious health conditions after taking the vax, my SIL and a good friend being two. She has been seriously ill for two weeks and her doctor and his associates say it’s not isolated, and they feel these cases are under reported to keep people from refusing the vax.

Whether scepticism is founded or not, it’s a person’s right to wait and see how things develop. Look at the loads, people are not waiting to travel and CEOs saying we need to vax to fill planes is not accurate, they’re filling already and we’re having trouble adding planes to the fleet quickly enough to meet demand.

CEOs are just trying to give the appearance of being good team players to keep the politicians happy.
