2020 was difficult. I'm just glad the boss was able to get thru it unscathed.

Good help is hard to find.

Don't want any of that talent running over to the competition now do we?

I'm worried about the c suite. Without buybacks, how will they artificially inflate their own compensation going forward?

I've got my furlough letter printed out and in a plastic protective sleeve for my table during training, and my nametag will have a prominent 1221 printed on it. EFB case has a 1221 sticker visible through the side window during ground ops, roller bag has 2 1221 stickers.

You never know where those 1221 stickers might end up.

Surprise surprise, this plumber gots himself an MBA and knows how to decypher SEC filings to decide for himself what's true and what's nonsense. Oops.

The dark green part, his "base pay" looks to be about what a senior hard working Captain made when times were good...... Unless I need to update my eyeglass prescription.

The salary I look at is our Former Chief of Chiefs, a guy with a year on me, who has since been promoted to Chief Aviation God of Executive Vice Presidency! I like to know my employer is taking care of people not all that unlike me!

You'll never catch me b!tching about making as much as my orthopedic surgeon golf buddy and still having time for an entirely separate career / business. AND, I don't think a $10 million dollar CASH salary would be excessive for Uncle Gary either, but he makes a lot less than that if that stock takes a crap!

Klink, I'm not complaining about Mr Kelly's pay. I do think it shows something about his leadership style though. "The end is neigh" updates from the company, "we need 10% and force majeure clause" and sending out 1221 warn notices. To restore your own pay and take a pay increase on top of that, is just bad form.

Serious question for all -

Have any of you flown with or otherwise talked to anyone who actually believed the labor relations BS about pay cuts or furloughs being necessary?

Everyone that I interacted with across a wide seniority spectrum saw them for what they are...complete BS.

I think that was also apparent in the union's reaction to it, which was disdain, doubt, anger, and ridicule of the very idea and those who were peddling it.

No, but I never saw the letter as anything other than a way to get me fired up and actively involved in helping legislation get passed that protected our pay. The thing is, I was already collecting a stipend NOT to work, and kind of saw my willingness to do that as a suckers bet. Kind of felt F'd, even though I know that's not the case.

I'll tell you what though, now that I'm coming back, the smoker has been going for a solid 24 hrs, because I do pulled pork with a whole young pig, ribs, brisket, all frozen and eaten when I'm on a trip. I'll be filling a freezer with such goodness.
I'll be ready!
