Here’s some gouge that’ll be good for the entire interview and it’s been the good gouge for the last decade +:
Be nice, be personable, be relatable, show you really want to be here and be able to present it via your stories.
Are you surly, too cool for the rest of us simple mortals or have a personality of a fish? American or Delta may be a better fit…

Hi folks,
i applied first when the first window opened, then applied again when the window opened again. My portal shows the first submission as received submission and the second one shows under review.. is this normal? Does it go to under review before closed complete or is under review a hopeful sign?

I applied, but feel like I might be missing something. It was several days after I applied, that I read about the second pilot app (thank god for APC), the matching emails to join the apps & I’m still confused about the military conversion. It applied .3 to my PIC/SIC, but not my IP or my 12 month total.
To SW’s credit, every time I have emailed them asking a question, they have responded & did so immediately . That alone makes me want to work there even more. Every company has computer problems, but at least they are trying to address it.
Good to luck everyone.

Ouch
Did you get a “TBNT” via email without any kind of interview/screening?
I logged in again today & it still says, “submission received.”
My Fingers are crossed, but after reading about guys who have been waiting for a decade...caused me to lower my (already low) expectations.

It was pretty straightforward. It was two captains and an HR rep. All were very nice and friendly. It started with their brief introductions and they asked for a quick intro (not the 3.5-5 minute life story). Asked: why Southwest, why should we hire you, what’s your greatest weakness, tell me about a time you had conflict in the cockpit (I’m single seat so I wove in one of my war stories that involved conflict with a team result and follow up), tell me about a time you screwed something up in the cockpit. After the questions it was a log book review. Very simple, have the times they ask for in the PDF ready. The times I had were my no kidding actual times and they were actually looking for the times with the military conversion from pilot credentials, which I was able to pull quickly from the website.
I got the email with invite for in person by the end of the next day, signups are available on September 1st.
