You won’t see a pure turn line as an FO at Southwest anywhere systemwide until you can upgrade.

Well beyond upgrading you mean.

You can choose between a turn line or upgrading but you won’t be able to have both

Upgrading? What is that, like is that an ELITT thing?

What are the trips on SWA like out of MCO? I’ve seen F9 does 40% ish 1 day trips. For me shorter trips are super appealing.

To answer the question, the trips will be just like out of the other domiciles, meaning mostly 3- and 4-day trips through all 105 of our system’s cities, excepting the Hawai’i (ETOPS) legs. There are some 2-day trips. As mentioned above, lines of FO day turns aren’t available until one is senior enough to upgrade, and those lines are often bid in order to clear your board via Give Away and play the Lance Captain game.

As as newhire, one may be involuntarily assigned to an ETOPS Bid Group (EBG), in one of the western domiciles. I believe being non-vol’d to EBG means no lock, whereas volunteering for EBG comes with a six bid-period lock.

Reserve lines are mostly 3- and 4-day blocks, either AM (0300? RAP) or PM (1100? RAP), with report no more than two hours from call, and push no more than one hour after show.

Hope this helps.

Just a couple nitpicking details to square away in the interest of providing correct info. The PM RAP's that I looked at all start at 1030. And report times are supposed to never be LESS than a 2-hour call-out, with never LESS than one hour to show after that.

That won't stop scheduling from begging you to help them out with shorter report times though, with the always-funny SWMP note (scheduling will make push) placed on the trip notes.

And you can use close in parking with two hour (maybe less than three?) call out.
