On the other hand, for Southwest…. this could be a snowball effect. Again, I’m not at southwest, just giving my 2 cents as an outsider. But being that the mandates don’t look to be going away anytime soon, passengers could view this is a long term/reoccurring theme and therefore be nervous about making future bookings. Who cares about a $50 one way to Vegas if you’re not sure you’re going to make it there. The TAF for the mandated inclement weather doesn’t look to be going away anytime soon.

Maybe some, but for many…Darwin.
Intelligent people weigh facts and change their minds when facts change. Others stick their head deeper into their comforting echo chamber, coddled by groupthink, and violently attacking infidels who challenge their cult. That those in the echo chamber don’t recognize where they are is a feature, not a bug. Death martyrs them, so many will gladly make that sacrifice instead of confronting a reality in which they were misled, mistaken, selfish or stubborn.
COVID has presented an interesting situation where the immediate impact of one’s choices is so apparent. We each make our choices and deal with the consequences…we should just stop whining about having to endure the inevitable result of our own grown-up choices. We have the right to choose, just deal with the results and stop sniveling.

If true, way to go Southwest pilots, if only united could have had half the balls. Hopefully we can fight any mandates if they come. Cheers to Southwest pilots
