Not trying to be a ****ing koksukker. You have no idea about the financial demographics of just the captains at southwest. FOs are different, but they'll get there soon. A majority of captains don't have a ****ing pot to **** in. They're so fiscally irresponsible that no amount of education will sway them from working themselves into an early grave. WE ARE ****ED. You are battling a hive of pearl clutching and hand wringing monsters.

He isn't wrong though. When I was an FO. I was shocked at the number of CAs in poor financial shape.

Lmao. Yes he/we did. We were paired together as NHs. Ask him about the tornado and the bathtub when you see him.

Well, there will always be a contingent that you will never sway and have to stop trying to sway. It’s a tough thing to accept but that’s just the reality.

As for greedy captains that live well above their means, the way you message that as far as SWAPA comm is to point out that DLA’s rates for like equipment will top out at $380 with the new TA. Our $245.64/TFP equites to only $282.24.

Let their greed work for you.

It is embarrassing to hear about the financial messes some of the more senior FOs and CAs are in. Not even having a few weeks of bill paying money. Hell, even in the Air Farce I generally had 6-12 months of bill paying money somewhere. These broke arses are the same ones who may be tempted to settle for a mullet wrapper.

**** I don’t know what a GD mullet wrapper is, but I know I don’t want to settle for one. That’s just nasty.

Pay off bills, get a CDL. The backup jobs have been lined up since fall of 2020. When the warn list came out I was in truck driving school and fortunately I was barely safe, although it would’ve meant 2-legging it to OAK to sit reserve. Moneys less and more time away from home, but it’ll meet our needs.

curious as to why truck driving? Is it low barriers to entry, make decent money quickly, or the similarities to flying?
Generally curious as I've heard many go this route
