Training for incapacitated crew members.
I know most airlines are training for incapacitated crew member in initial and recurrent. I got to ask was the captain vaccinated?

I think most airlines do incapacitated pilot training. I think all we did in initial was a cat3 where the Ca didn’t respond and we landed.
Hopefully we get some real training on these situations in the future. There are plenty situations where one pilot continued and landed when the other became incapacitated. Maybe get someone up front to help get the CA some medical attention during the divert in that situation. No one should GAS whether that person helping to save the CA’s life was in CASS or not. I don’t think anyone wants another BS day in Dallas talking about policies for pilot incapacitation. That’s why (until recently?) major airlines hired folks who could use their experience and SA to figure it out and make a decision without guidance from the mothership. |
