Are you kidding? I was at SWA for over a year before I learned they make 737's with a tiller for the FO.

SW doesn’t even pay for a fuel totalizer

You kidding? SWA is the only airline in the world that actually removes the standard roller shades from brand new airplanes.

Training for incapacitated crew members.

I know most airlines are training for incapacitated crew member in initial and recurrent. I got to ask was the captain vaccinated?

Hopefully we get some real training on these situations in the future.

There are plenty situations where one pilot continued and landed when the other became incapacitated.

Trained in initial to go around at 50’ when the CA froze up on a CATIII. No CATIII landing capability from the right seat. Hopefully carrying enough divert fuel to get somewhere with CATI WX.

Maybe get someone up front to help get the CA some medical attention during the divert in that situation. No one should GAS whether that person helping to save the CA’s life was in CASS or not.

I don’t think anyone wants another BS day in Dallas talking about policies for pilot incapacitation. That’s why (until recently?) major airlines hired folks who could use their experience and SA to figure it out and make a decision without guidance from the mothership.
