Interview-CJO Timeframe
I interviewed yesterday, April 11th. Very curious if anyone has received a CJO from that day already. It seems the congratulations email received the next morning is a pretty common occurrence from what I gather on aviationinterviews.com and I did not receive it today which was a gut punch. I understand this likely means I will be looked at again when the final review board meets (on the 21st) but I would love more insight into this process if anyone has it.
|
I was there too
Hey I was the B team yesterday and have not received any word. App still shows "in progress". They may be running behind due to Easter. The process also changes regularly so it may not be like it was months ago. Hang in there.

I interviewed on the 11th as well. No word yet. I spoke to several others from our group; no word for any of them either.
|
I interviewed the 11th in the B group and got a CJO at 10am on the 12th. A friend of mine that interviewed on the 11th in the A group got a CJO around the same time.
It was a phone call from an assistant chief pilot in ATL, did not get an email until after that phone call. I know two people that interviewed the 10th that in my opinion should expect a CJO and they have not heard a word. |
Thank you everyone
I felt really good about the interview unlike last time which was a disaster of my own making. Thank you for the advice to just chill and hang in there. Good luck everyone!
|
That's a relief
Thank you everyone for that feedback; it really helps put me at ease. I am terrible about being overly critical and kicking myself when I should probably just relax and wait. AE3007A1E, I believe I spoke to you on my way out after we were both done. WN would be very lucky to have you. Best of luck to all of you! I was group B and I hope every single one of you receives that congratulations phone call.
|
Yes that's me! Honestly our entire group was very diverse and everyone had great attitudes. Thank you for the kind words my friend! Same to you. I truly hope to see everyone again in class.
|
I also interviewed on the 11th. Did not hear anything from them yet. 2 buddies of mine who interviewed on the 10th, one of them got it the second day and the other still waiting. 🤷♂️
|
Anyone on the 14th B group heard back yet?
|
I interviewed on the 12th (A group) and have not heard anything yet.

Anyone get one yet?
I was in early group on 11th. Nothing yet or not at all. Anyone else get a call? Seen only one person on here said they got it.

Info
Spoke with a 12APR B Grouper. Best he can deduce is those who got the CJO already are a) 737 typed b) family members already work there or c) not identifying as male. Don't kill the messenger just how he sees it based on observation.
That jives with my Intel that unless you're a golden ticket we're going through reference checks. Stay positive! |

Also I can think of pilots that classify as group c that have not been given a CJO after interviewing. I don't think WN is as 'friendly' to group c as other airlines are, but that's my observation based on pilots I know. |

That jives with my Intel that unless you're a golden ticket we're going through reference checks. Stay positive! It’s all about how you are in your interview. I don’t believe for a second that there are specific non resume demographics they are targeting. I say this as a result of seeing new hire class pictures and asking about people’s backgrounds in the schoolhouse. I know several people that got the CJO 24 hours later, or 10 days later, or got the TBNT. Everyone that comes in with the qualifications to be interviewed are getting a fair shot to see if they are the right fit. |
Please don't misunderstand me I'm not implying anyone gets an advantage in this process. I see how my comment seemed biased and that was not my intention at all.
|
3 sections of the interview. If you get all 3 thumbs up by the team you get the call the next day. 2/3 you wait for review board. 1/3 you get the TBNT.
That is what I was told by other interviewees the day I interviewed The road is harder if the team sensed you have canned answers by prep services and or didn’t seem all that enthused about SW being your forever airline. Don’t over think it . |

And by "golden ticket" I meant the 3/3 thumbs ups, NOT that anyone has a pass on any of the process for any reason. Good grief I need to read my own stuff back to myself more often. |

Within a few days, yes. Waiting longer than that is a good sign in that you made it the review...

Got the reapply in 6 months TBNT email.
good luck to those who got the CJO |
TBNT
I also did not get the CJO. Good luck. Be careful out there.
|
Sorry to hear that! Would recommend getting the full operation (or at least showing up in a women’s suit will likely do the trick), attend NGPA, or get some tone to that skin, better luck will follow. Go get that diversity! It’s a brave new SWA, get on board, or get left behind! Woohoo!
In all seriousness, if you qualify to apply to SWA, you qualify to apply to any of them, there are much better options out there, don’t get down. Chin up, press on! (I almost said “man up”, that was close!) |

trust me, you are better off. This place is a rudderless ship. |
What do you suppose SWAPA is telling job hunters at TPNx? 🫢
|
Interviewed 4/27, 0730 pool.
Call from Chief Pilot extending CJO morning of 4/28 2400TT, 1800 Turbine, 900 TPIC, one jet type rating. Good luck to all that applied! |
