Sorry, sucks for a commuter but in-base would have got two free days at home. Unfortunately I don't see anything from swapa's latest that would be a true long call reserve for commuters.

Have you looked to trade for flying with a line holder? When I played the reserve game, I would look for commuters and would trade my line flying for their reserve. I'd bet on staying home, and they'd get to fly and save on hotel costs - win/win.

This works (sometimes). I was able to give away all of my blocks in my current base the last month I had reserve. As we go back to seasonal norms in demand this year, look for January and February to be very light months. This brings out the rabid open time bidders and TTGA hounds. Reserve should be very good to those who want to fly little. For those who are forced into it, try to give it away. Since the company is allowed to take back reserve blocks from open time in those months (yet another win (for the company) from the last contract that collectively costs us millions), there won't be many reserve blocks in there like there are right now. The giveaway blocks should do pretty well as folks on the 150 TFP budget start getting hungry.
