I joke with my class that they'd rather pull -200s/300s/500s out of the scrap yard than get a different type.

We will get a new type around 2040, but it won't be the B787. It will be whatever POS Boeing puts out to replace the B737. Likely with the same FMC software in use today...

And the Flight Attendants will still not have a control knob for the cabin temperature.

Seems optimistic, I don't think the Max will be certified by 2040.
