No, I think whoever started that rumor was wrong. Southwest will be the trailblazer in supersonic travel.... now flights between DAL and LBB will only take 10 minutes.

But we could fly it from DAL-LBB. 787 at this airline. Man thats a good one. The only 787s we would possibly get would be Hawaiians. Then we would pay UAL to take them but keep all the pilots. Same for HI Airbus. 787 my god thats funny.

I think this rumor goes back to 2011-2012 ish. I HIGHLY DOUBT this will ever happen. If you want to fly heavies the big 3 are still hiring.
