Me, I live 20 minutes away from work. I don't plan on using RTCI (unless I have lunch plans or something), as I'd rather make the extra cash in LCO by being available for when the plan changes.
You still get LCO if plans change. I haven’t had a rsv trip change in months.

I have, just last trip in fact. Not as lucrative as summer, but still definitely happening, at least on my PM schedule.

But I was specifically talking about the Release-to-check-in when it happens. To pick a random example, let's say you are assigned a 6pm report for a trip the next day, and you do the release-to-check-in. The odds of you getting reassigned into a different trip are much lower than if you were still available for an assignment beginning at the start of your RAP. Yes, you'll get LCO if your trip changes, but if you're no longer on reserve, that change isn't nearly as likely to happen.

I’ve had FO’s and the entire rest of the crew get reroutes…but I haven’t. This is on PM’s also.

I’ve only had a rsv trip change 1x once assigned…and that was last Feb when sked had no idea what they’d agreed to.

Need some snowstorms to blow some stuff up….

Obviously it is different for everyone, but with the exception of this month, I have always gotten LCO in some form every month since the new contract started, and last August, I had it on every trip except for one. It's been a huge cash cow for me, but apparently not for others. I guess it must be the right place at the right time, other than the fact that PM is set up for more reroutes than AM.
