I'm not sure how hot of a take it is in these forums, but I'm personally ok with the 1500hr rule mainly due to it being one of the driving factors for regionals actually paying well these days + giving pilots more bargaining power. I also believe it serves as a filter for those less committed, especially these days when you don't have to break your back as much as older pilots did. If it's done away with it may actually end up being a negative, though I could be wrong. Someone who's been in the airline world for longer may know better than me I suppose

I think we are all in agreement with you. I'd be surprised if anyone here wasn't unless their kid was time building. I'm just saying what I suspect Bedford will do, regardless of our opinion on the topic.

Anyway I suppose we're gonna have to stay vigilant these next 4-5 years as he runs through his term- he has been critical in the past. We'll see

we both worked for him….so there’s no doubt he’ll try and do anything to make things worse for the pilot industry. But…the 1500 hr rule was enacted after the Colgan BUF crash and there’s a lot of families up there who are adamant against any change to it (whether or not it actually makes a difference)….so not gonna be a rubber stamp change.

Got out the training center today... talked with a CKA, he said "Get ready... it's coming"

Word is is that hiring will happen before the end of the year, couple hundred...

Probably just complying with the 225 contract. But what do I know.

I also just realized that I have no idea what im talking about since I haven't touched a plane since mid June maybe those are the rumors. 🙅‍♂️
