don’t get me wrong, I enjoy BBQ every once in a while, it’s probably some of the best food from this country. But it’s not healthy at all, smoked meats are a known carcinogen. Fatty cuts of meat like brisket and pork shoulder are terrible for heart health, despite what certain influencers and government officials say.
On a side note, the amount of pilots getting a traeger and making smoking meats their entire personality is out of control.

Enjoy life a little. Maybe just don’t enjoy it too much. Bacon is a carcinogen too. They just reclassified it and put it with some of the big ones. Won’t stop me from eating bacon once in a while. I just won’t put it on my cereal anymore.

How ironic, the guy who made an entire thread about his coronary artery disease talking about eating atherosclerosis inducing foods.
Goes to show that advanced cardiovascular medicine can only do so much. Americans making stupid dietary choices is why our health insurance premiums keep going up every year

Lp(a) levels are mostly genetic, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try to lower your ApoB through diet and exercise. In addition to statins and possibly PCSK9 inhibitors
