The projection shows 60, but it’s hard to say how many were already displaced and are just being shuffled around. Definitely some DAL pilots getting Austin-ed and some OAK pilots sprinkled about. As I and many others said before, opening a base is wonderful for the tens of people that live there. For everyone else…not so much. I suspect that the litany of upgrades and new hires will help smooth this out eventually. Also, this is just the first projection. It will change. Give it time.
Also, the guy on the first page getting displaced to ATL? That wasn’t on my bingo card at all. Crazy times.

In the past week, 2 classmates of mine accepted CJOs at OALs. 1 United and 1 Delta. Brings the confirmed total that I can personally count of Year 3’ish FOs leaving in the past 6 months to 13. I obviously don’t have eyes on 95% of the FO pilot group. I feel like the number of FOs deciding to leave is picking up steam and I imagine will increase the next few months.
Crew Planning has no idea what the true cost of these displacements are.

Had they opened a base in spots we don't currently have a decent base presence such as NY, boston, Pittsburgh, Charleston, Seattle, or even stl I bet you'd fill it quicker. Lots of folks eager for a shorter commute than their current one. At least Austin is a decent city if you get forced there unlike Baltimore.
