I have really good LORs (2x internal) and other references and people who have flown with me during and after everything that was brought up. Those letters hopefully fill in the gaps that I missed (they specifically mention how i live up to those values). I honestly think it was all of that external support that got me to the interview and they made it seem like they'll probably call the references to talk about what kind of person I am. I basically insisted "don't take my word for it, here's the LCA that did my line check at my current company and my XO/CO at a squadron I flew at and high ranking people..." and so on and so forth. So I felt good with 2 of the 3 panels. The HR interviewers were so straight-faced it felt like I absolutely bombed with them. Anyway, if I get a CJO it would be fantastic. If not, many lessons have been learned for next time. |

I got through the interview recently. Talked through my issues on both HR and logbook review. I did my best to make those points in both. A real bummer is the extra focus on all of that plus my TMAAT questions being almost entirely about interpersonal conflict (conflict in cockpit, challenged by coworker, how i handle operational pressure in the jet) had me talking almost exclusively about difficulty with other pilots even though I typically have great rapport with the people I work with. I'm also really concerned that I couldn't communicate to the customer service/fun core values because the focus was so strong on other things.

Most are ok but jeez we've had some doozies. also we are absorbing the spirit pax so they want to know if you carry a spare plastic grocery bag in case their carry on breaks during boarding. |

not necessarily for you but I think the conflict questions are because we have 3 generations in the cockpit right now and its showing. They want to knownif you being young can interact with a dinosaur and if old a whippersnapper.

Interesting one
Okay so I scheduled my interview yesterday, BUT I got an email today saying TBNT? 🤔. Anyone else get something like this? I did apply in March and again in April.

Don’t worry about it too much…our technology still sucks. I was here for 4 years and logged into the app to see how I filled something out for a buddy….it told me to schedule an interview. 😂. Thought about showing up with my ID in my pocket and seeing what would happen…. |

Any idea how far out classes are being offered?
They really impressed upon our group that they have no CJO or TBNT quotas. An entire interview group could be picked up. So if they have, say, 400 spots for the forseeable future (just making up the number), and 400 people got CJOs today, and all of them wanted the earliest possible class, they'll probably max out every week and there wouldnt be many opportunities around fall. There was some lamentation by one of the employees that the 90 day class window was unfair to military types with 3+ months to go, I took that to mean your availability needs to be soon or you risk losing your chance. When I was asked, the interviewer wanted to put down a reason why I couldn't take 1st available even though I just needed to delay by one class. Normally a one week delay isn't a concern requiring justification, it's months. I don't know exactly what they're going for. There's just alot of clues and implications to suggest time is of the essence. |

Classes are basically weekly now and it seems their intent is to frontload people as much as possible. Unless military duties are a concern, I would choose the earliest available seat. Classes are going weekly and when I interviewed earlier this week, it seemed like CJOs could potentially get into class within 1-4 weeks of the phone call.

I started right before the hiring freeze 2 ish years ago and by the end of this year the 2 friends in class will have more people under them than I did in 2 years 🤣 timing is everything! I’m grateful to be here though and on the front end of this next hiring wave. I hope it works out for everyone who truly wants to be here. |
