You'll lose ~30 seniority #s overall for short term gain but it could be worth it for some folks.

Apparently vacancy bids are monthly. Is there any sort of lock on your base straight out of training or could we just bid the next available month what we want?

I think there is still a lock if you chose an etops base. Ie not you last choices. That will be for 6 bid periods.
so unless you want an ETOPS base ( OAL, LAX, LASE) Then make sure those are at the bottom of your choices.
Other than that you have the potential to move each bid period.

Going 1 more class earlier could've been the difference between me driving to work next month and still being displaced. Always take the first available class.....You can pass on upgrade for QOL reasons too but I took first avail in my base because you never know when the music will stop (max grounding, Covid, max delays, high fuel prices.....).

That's right....I don't imagine any NH into those bases anytime soon anyway.
