Ah yes, one of our constructive figures from the ALPA forum. I suppose if we had voted "no" they would have for sure followed any agreement we signed. If we voted "no" they would have been forced to give us everything. What does the vote have to do with Management following agreements? Yes or no, they still wouldn't have followed them if you haven't figured that out yet.

I'm sure we would have been much better off voting "no," especially given the current circumstances. A long drawn out arbitration battle would have made it all better considering they are getting rid of 88 of our planes. This has been beaten to death let it go. It serves no purpose now. Now it's about enforcing our agreements not rehashing the past.

You personally may not be, but you are part of a collective group that may be able to influence the decision.
SWAPA is aware of all this. SWAPA is the current pilots operating 737's painted in SWA colors. SWAPA is you, 'Shoelu'.
SWAPA sitting on their hands is a direct reflection of the collective indifference of the current SWAPA members to the plight of the current AirTran pilots.
If this was happening to SWAPA pilots, there would be an uproar. It is happening to future SWAPA pilots, and there's not even a whimper. That's on SWAPA, and that's on all of its membership, even those members who have the courage to acknowledge the injustice of it.

Well put . . . . except I think this message needs to be directed at folks other than Shoelu, who clearly understands where we're coming from.
Thanks, Shoe.

Trying telling that last part to actual "Real SW pilots". It's inconceivable to them that not everyone wants/wanted to work at a giant regional airline.

None the less, 'Shoelu's fellow SWAPA pilots are not looking to be very engaged on this issue, currently. Perhaps this is being worked 'behind the scenes'?
The SLI is over. It's time to move on. The sooner the SWAPA and ALPA pilots can do this, the better it will be for all involved.

Um, "It" is happening to SWAPA pilots. Daily. There is plenty of pain on both sides of the partition. To suggest otherwise is disingenuous.
Ironically, there are several threads on our forums regarding the whole 717 mess. The short version? We got duped. SWAPA and AT/ALPA. If the Airtran pilots knew the 717's were going away, many would have voted differently - as would many at SWAPA. Agreeing to take on 1700 pilots while jettisoning a majority of the accompanying airframes? Really?
Ironically, this may serve to galvanize the 2 groups against the real culprit. And it aint' SWAPA.
