2 bases in MO is stupid. There’s absolutely no reason for it.

they’re only going to announce one base if any. My bet is it will probably be MCI, and if not STL.

Curious what the flights per day are between the two. Wonder if the plan would be to shrink STL and grow MCI or just run a really small base? I don’t think MCI is even in the top 10 cities (that aren’t bases) of flights/day.

It looks like AUS, BNA, SAN, STL, and SJC are the non bases that have more daily flights than MCI. MCI is actually about on par with LAX in number of flights per day. It would obviously be a smaller base similar to LAX but you could always build it up and add more flights over time. If that were to happen I’m sure they’d shift some STL flying over to MCI.

More than I thought! Still think BNA and STL makes more sense but not sure opening both those with MDW and DAL being closeby makes much sense. Prob why that’s above my pay grade.

I think FLL, HNL and something in the PAC NW would round things out also.

FLL makes no sense unless we start doing significantly more Latin American and Caribbean flying

I could see HNL at some point in the future, we don’t do nearly enough flying in the PNW to justify a base there unless there is a merger with Alaska coming

Hotel costs and overnights are a huge factor in opening a base. Ever try to get a hotel in BNA? $400+ for our company hotels on a weekend.

Of course, it will probably be somewhere we aren't even thinking about. Stand by for HNL base announcement.

Supposedly our network is supposed to be restored this year and next year is supposed to be growth. This is all assuming the MAX 7 isn’t a unicorn and actually shows…so where’s the growth? We don’t operate to Canada, Alaska or most of the points down south.

PNW could be a launch point to AK….like PDX to avoid a SEA ****ing match.

I am pretty sure we are not able to convert the currency to fly into AK.
