Default Traditions going away?

So supposedly, one of the June classes decided that it was "hazing" to have the old guy cane and the class baby rattle.... and the current new hire class doesn't have it.

If true... I'm at a loss.

This tradition stopped many years ago, about the time they took down all the pictures on the walls of the GO.

It was hazing. This was not a tradition when I was hired 23 years ago.

Default Traditions going away?

We had it earlier this year and had a lot of fun with it. The class leader and the class baby were awesome about it and got into the whole fun. They had it for 3 weeks. Even when we went to People Department for our ID's, and the guys left their rattle in class, the ladies at PD were asking about it and gave them a mock stinkeye because they left it in the classroom.

The few times they left it laying around, and had it stolen from them, they bought beers and the fun was had by all.... including the old man and the baby.

Man, the butt-hurt generation just doesn't know how to have fun.

I was attached to the rattle for 3 weeks in the spring. It was a pain in the A$$ but it was all in good fun. Its a shame that its not around now.....

I was in that class, and we carried on the tradition until our FLY day when a NON-pilot employee complained about age discrimination, and that was that. Tradition over.
