Hey Bendo,
Your plan of rigging reserve buffer, to prevent us from dropping, backfired. NOT so smart after all.
Incapable of performing your job, you count on us low tier scum to bail you out.
You threaten to sue, because there is no room in our lives, or schedules to accommodate.
Sweet email though, makes it all good.

I'm saving my JAs for later usage, when they will count.

If I were a lawyer......................I would be salivating at the notion there would be a lawsuit based on pilots not picking up extra flying on days off. Here's why: It has been voiced on record the reason for the cancellations were due to weather, and some staffing issues. At the same time, the company sends an email to the union claiming something else. That being said, each passenger now has a case of fraudulent and deceptive business practice when they could have been properly compensated with hotel and meal vouchers. Additionally, other items which bore the full and unrecoverable costs from passengers (missed cruises, non-refundable hotel stays, etc) due to staffing and not weather are open for reimbursement. However, claiming the cancellation was due to weather absolves them of all out of pocket expenses.

The court of public opinion could take this and run to the media to show how the public may have a chance to make individual claims, or class action suit.

Agreed. Any and all threats of suit against the pilot group should be made public

The propaganda machine is spooling up it would seem. Just got word from a friend at another airline that an email went out to their dispatchers warning them to plan all their flights full out of one of our bases because Spirit cancelled a majority of the flights as a result of a "pilot callout".

That's rich. They wish this was as simple as a sickout. That would imply this wasn't systemic and everything will be fine next month. LOL

29 flight cancelled Today (08may), so far.

NK, since the beginning of the month has cancelled in average of 70 flights a day with 60 due to pilot availability every day over 400 flights, poor planning, poor transition, poor everything, most likely Mgmt will file a lawsuit against pilots based on intimidation amongst ourselves, but the reality is that they cant sued us for not answering our phones on our days off.

if anything it will show us how much they really care.
pax are not happy and news media is taking nothice that something is going on.

Everything adds up and eventually something gives.

Wasn't this just like the situation at Allegiant prior to a T/A?

I wonder if it's possible that our management is actually worse than theirs?

I'm guessing yes. They would rather this place fall apart than to just bargain with us.

Hope your Jury Duty was fun Bendo!

And FWIW when I say they would rather this place fall apart I'm not suggesting we will make matters worse, I'm simply stating that a new contract would address all these inefficiences that ole Rainman Bob likes to cry about during earnings calls

If every spirit pilot simply asked themselves what they have failed to do in their job description that could have possibly contributed to this mess, we will all recognize who is responsible for dropping the ball, again and again. Let's not let Lucy pull the ball out from under us, and, each of us should ask themselves what the company gave them for bailing them out last year. It's human to empathize, it's human to want to assuage anxiety causing situations, it's in our pilot nature to want to course correct deviations, and....it is effective negotiating skills to allow opponent's poor performance to remain on their side of the court.
