Qotsaautopilot has been fighting the good fight for YEARS while most of you just complain on forums. He was being a little over the top, sure, but can you blame him? It's rediculous that any contract talk is being discussed in the open. It's also rediculous to think the Spirit MEC is trying to pull a fast one, they're not perfect but they beat the pants off some other unions (*coughAAcough*). Before you spout conspiracy theories, call your rep and I guarantee you'll get your answer.

I hope you're right. I know many guys would love to see LAX as a base. Logic isn't on you're side. First gate agents aren't a good source for anything other than "Where's my plane?". ;) You could ask the Taxi/bus drivers out front and get better intel. The room they pointed out to you was Swissport storage. :eek:

So I actually just talked to Wilber whom is the shift leader of the Information Desk there at the terminal and he said they actually pushed back the announcement till next Thursday.

"Spirit Airlines Inc. has been waiting for years to add more international flights at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), CEO Bob Fornaro said on a recent earnings call. Now, the Miramar-based discount airline will get its chance.

"You'll see that coming in the later part of the year," Fornaro said after the company (Nasdaq: SAVE) released its third quarter earnings Oct. 26.

Spirit hasn't made any announcements on what those international destinations may be. But Fornaro said the company is scoping out opportunities in large and midsize cities with a healthy share of tourists.

Part of the reason is that the company's operating costs are much less than those of large carriers, so it can undercut fares for price-conscious vacationers.

"We're competing against giants," Fornaro said. "Large carriers can't price the markets for the typical leisure customer; that's why the opportunity is in large markets, rather than small markets."

With more international flights out of FLL, Spirit would be adding pathways in its largest market, where it already has 28 percent of its total capacity and most of its existing international flight capacity. The carrier has no flights out of Miami International Airport, Florida's top airport for international flights."

Yeah, I got the country right atleast (Ecuador). I was looking at GYE and it's not too bad of a town. Right on the beach, always warm weather and town looks pretty cool kinda colorful like somewhere in the Caribbean. (Look at it on Lonelyplanet.com. It's gunna have to be an approx. 24 hour layover for us of you look at the flight times. (Pretty close)

Idk, if I wasn't far off of the new route maybe I won't be far off on the new base. Lol anyways I got to get back to grocery shopping then study for my CPT. New hire hotel isn't bad here in FLL But they could do a few things different.

I just heard tonight that CMH, MKE, and ANC are being announced Wednesday. We'll see...

Fly me 7.5 with a duty of 9.0 and a 15 hour layover. I'll take that every day(or night) I'm flying. Most are not here to have a beer with you at the bar listening to you talk about how you're a pilot, or watching you make bad choices with stu's or lot lizards. :p

Add that to the list of why this place ****ing sucks, dont overnight with the F/As.

And I dont know what you’re talking about. This place has the most unproductive trips in the industry. One leg day one with 5:00am show, and 4 legs by day 4 that gets you home by 11:55PM all for 18 hrs!!!!
