Yes personal exemptions would go away as a deduction but the credits for dependents is increasing by I believe $600. So for families with kids you would get more credit, which is actual money and not just a deduction, so families would see more money.

The goal is to show some short term tax cut to the middle class that will shrink over time, just so that they can pass the bill including the removal of estate tax. A scam so that the upper class can pass on their fortune to their kids. Meanwhile, the deficit will grow at a faster pace and the next generation will bear the cost. Disgusting !

First off, there are already ways around the estate tax (ex: irrevocable trusts). Removal of this isn’t going to change the deficit any noticeable amount. It’s just going to make it easier for the ultra-wealthy to transfer assets tax-free. Assets that are already being/ have been taxed btw.

Secondly, our people need to educate themselves on how the rich actually pay taxes. Two of the biggest ways are long term capital gains, and owning companies where they take the majority of their profits from dividends, while paying themselves a “reasonable salary”. Both of which are taxed at 20%. I knew a woman who owned a company and lived in a $5 million home. She paid herself a salary of $70k per year. How did she do that?! She took most of her income as dividends. Another guy, who has $50 million dollars can basically take 3% every year ($1.5 million), pay only 20% tax, and never touch the principle.

Neither side of the aisle has seriously tried to tax the rich more. Notice how the Liberals are fired up about lowering corporate taxes? Corporations should be taxed at Zero percent. The taxable event should occur when the corporation pays an actual person, who then goes out and buys whatever he/she wants. If this happened, the corporation would then be free to reinvest and possibly hire more people or increase wages etc. Then when the execs take their payment (in whatever form it is), they should be subject to the same tax rate as everyone else based on the income they acquired for that year. This whole liberal argument is a diversion from the fact that they don’t want the ultra wealthy to really have to give up their 20% tax rate any more than the Republicans do.

This should go well...Like this guy above ^^^^

People trying to convince each other that their facts and rationale are correct and the other's views are misguided.

Opinions are just that, opinions. Why anyone would type out a 3 paragraph opinion, subjective at that, trying to convince people on political views is about as promising/producitve as telling Bendo to tuck that shirt in and actually look like someone who runs an airline and makes 7 figures. Its a waste of time.

Facts aren’t rational... they are facts. Opinions can be rational though. What I wrote contained both facts and opinions. It’s pretty easy to tell which is which. If you can’t tell then click on the link I provided.

My opinion (which I believe to be rational), is that people need to educate themselves.

Can someone maybe direct me to the Spirit forum if possible? I seem to have taken a wrong turn and somehow ended up on Google Finance when all I really want to do is read hateful stuff about Bob, Bendover, and Jyrinal and also discuss being stapled to the bottom of the Mesa list after they buy us and take our Airbii for themselves while we get some 1900s from the desert so we can all fly 6-8 legs per day for 20 days a month because PBS says that's super efficient.

I haven’t fact checked this, but I’m willing to bet that a significant portion of Bob and Bendo’s pay is paid at a lesser tax rate than what our flight attendants pay. How’s that? Not Jyrnal tho. He’s a wannabe big shot.

Cost of living has gone up in the 15 years since I flew 1900s and I'm pretty sure the pay rates on the Super D Heavy haven't kept pace so I'm confident my tax rate will be lower after I'm displaced to PGB/B190/FO/FA.

So moneytips.com is 100% facts? Is that a Fact as well?

The point is how receptive would you be to someone posting 3 paragraphs of "facts", of the opposite perspective that you offered? Im guessing, not that receptive.

There is a reason why political chat is supposed to be avoided on these forums, because it serves no purpose but to recite political dogma and speaking points from Alex Jones, CNN, MSNBC, FOX or whatever one sided source most Americans get their "facts" from.

More so, it creates more divisiveness amongst a pilot group that is trying to keep the limited amount of info we have, straight.
