I was in line behind one of NK's pax a few months ago as she was outraged to find out that you needed any form of ID to go through security, she said she had no ID except a WIC card (which was basically a state debit card with no picture). She was ticked as she was going to miss her flight, but TSA seemed unmoved. TSA agent said it happens daily, not that unusual.

I honestly don’t know the real reasons, can only presume...

Most of the time the base fare that someone pays is cheaper than the change fees so it's cheaper to let a ticket go unused and buy a new one when plans change.

That’s some funny $h!t . I’m sure she doesn’t go anywhere without her government issued “gimme dat” card. She was probably enraged when she foung out she could not use her WIC card to pay for her airfare too.

I'm sure some politician or community organizer told her that IDs are racist.

At the risk of sounding like I'm biting the hand that pays me (modestly) I'm fairly certain that many of our passengers are not only taking their first flight when they get on a yellow bus but are also enjoying their first foray into public for a decade or two. Common sense is not at all common amongst them and the basics of interpersonal interaction that most people learn in elementary school are conspicuously absent. If we ever have a truly hard or "forced" landing the carnage inflicted by the tray tables left down and unbuckled seat belts (despite repeated FA "corrections") will be quite ugly.

That’s awesome! She is on state aid/government assistance, and she has money to spend on an airline ticket.

I think we are currently on about a three year upgrade but anyone hired today won’t upgrade for a decade or more if we don’t order more airplanes. The key is to make being an FO a lucrative job as well.

ACY is always junior
FLL is junior for FOs
Not sure about captains. Any base is attainable quickly but FLL is very senior for Captains along with DTW. I think LAS and DFW are getting harder to get into for both seats.
